Hi,

I'm a Canadian pre-dent who's gonna be applying for 2009 admission and I am thinking about US schools right now. I know most US schools accept the canadian DAT, but which ones stand out in terms of reputation? And I've heard that the application process takes place different from in canada (usually around November), can someone give me a general idea of how US applications work and when they generally take place?

P.S. If someone can tell me more about the rolling application, that would be great. Much appreciated.

Hi,

1. Application starts in mid May, apply as soon as possible.
2. Most of us usually opt to take the exam during June or July.
3. Big private schools have known to be more Canadian friendly. Such as BU, Tufs, NYU etc.

Since the application process starts in May, you should take the February DAT, as opposed to next November. Taking the November DAT will make the completion of your application quite late.

If you haven't already looked at the application, you should create an AADSAS account (this is free), copy all the questions, and fill them out before May - that way you can just paste them in once the 2009 applications open.

Rolling applications means that schools consider and accept applicants periodically, as opposed to waiting until after the applications deadline to start accepting. This places greater importance on applying early.

I was in the same boat, being from Toronto - so if you have any other questions, feel free to pm me.
