I know that international students have a much harder time getting into U.S. medical schools. Does anybody know if Canadian citizens are categorized as international students as well? More than half of the U.S. post bacc programs do not give the student visa required for Canadians/ international students to undertake a course of study in the U.S. (which most 4 year degree-granting colleges do) so there is already a limited number of programs for Canadians to apply to. Does anybody know if it is more difficult to get into post-bacc programs that do give the student visa as a Canadian citizen because post-bacc programs would like to keep their med school acceptance rates high?
thanks!
