Thank you so much for replying. This helps a lot. Good luck for your exam.

I wrote the November 2009 Canadian DAT last weekend (didnt get my scores yet). Here is what I used to prepare:

PAT: Crack DAT pat (do about 1 test per day to get really good at this), using only this software, I was able to finish with 8 minutes to spare and felt like I destroyed the PAT

BIO: Barron's AP bio book and Cliff's AP bio book, both really good resources, especially Barron's AP book. They go into too much detail in some sections for what you need to know on the DAT, but it is good to know all of it since sometimes the DAT will throw specifics at you. The real bio test is a little harder than the CDA practise test and similar to Kaplan BB test. Topscore is too hard.

GCHEM: The Kaplan Blue book explained this section in appropriate depth for what you are going to see on the DAT, don't bother getting an AP gchem book for this, it is too advanced. Concentrate on the basics since the real DAT is mostly chem basics. Real DAT test is harder than CDA practise test but easier than Kaplan BB test, topscore is just too hard.

Carving: I bought about 20 CDA soaps and carved 1-2 a day in the final weeks leading up to the DAT, just practise a lot, 20 soaps is enough to get a good score.

RC: I didn't really care about this section since all the schools I am applying to (McGill and ULQ, UM) don't look at this score. I just used the Search and Destroy method. Look it up on this forum.

Notes: In my opinion, this is all the prep material you need, I got topscore and it wasnt really usefull IMO since it was way too hard compared to the real DAT. IMO the AP book bio practise questions, CDA and Kaplan practise tests are enough to get a good DAT score.

Good luck to you.👍

I'm in Dent now and I used a couple of the books already suggested. I also used a set of books by IQ Publications (look up their Canadian DAT books) - they really helped me because they were simple and straightforward with challenging questions.
I also took a course called Rock the DAT (I think you can google them) - it just depends where you are located to see if there is a course near you. It was helpful to have that individualized instruction and also see where other students are at (who will most likely be writing the same DAT as you and therefore factor into your curve).
Good luck!
