Hello All

I am a Canadian student who is looking to get into the Medical school in US. However, I do not have much information and I was hoping someone here can direct me to the right resources.

1) What are the International friendly schools in US ?
2) When should I start applying ? A friend of mine applied to dental school in US through ADDSAS, is there such institution for Med schools as well ?
3) Is there any sort of information package ( again, I know there is such a book for dental schools which is published by ADA) that I can purchase ?

Thank you all for your help. I am new and just starting to gather the information.

1) Here's a link to the American schools accepting Canadians thread on premed101 (a canadian version of SDN)
http://www.premed101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19065

off the top of my head I know Jefferson, Wayne state, and Case Western are some of the friendlier ones.

2) You can submit your primary application on June 1st. I think as long as you get ur primaries in before the end of june your good because it takes time for schools to send out the secondaries anyway. But of course it also takes time for AMCAS to process your primary but like i said if you get er done anytime in june ur usually good to go by the time secondaries start coming out.

Get secondaries in as soon as possible.

AMCAS is the organization running med school admissions. This is where you will fill out your primary application.

amcas.org

3) the med school information book is called the MSAR. its got all the schools with information on each one, including if they take internationals and how many they took in the last cycle.

FYI. I am Canadian as well, i applied this cycle and managed to get accepted. so if you have any further questions i'd be happy to help

Best of luck.
