Is it possible to cancel your AMCAS application (before it has been accepted and processed and everything) and still get your money back?

It is still in the submitted for review stage??

I didn't do as well as I had hoped on my MCAT, so i'd rather apply next year with a clean slate instead of being seen as a re-applicant!

THANKS! Help is GREATLY appreciated, especially since this really is time sensitive now.

Awwww, skyblue2000, I'm sorry to hear that.

If you cancel the application before verification is complete, it is my understanding that you can get back all but the ~$160 base fee.

From page 10 of the AMCAS instructions booklet:
Withdrawal
To withdraw your AMCAS application from consideration you must do so online by selecting withdraw application from the right side of the main menu. This option is only available after submission and before verification of your AMCAS application. In order to withdraw you must certify that you have read and understood the statement provided within the application. The certification will serve as your signature. You will receive a refund for the medical schools deadlines that have not passed and will not receive the non refundable $160 service fee.
You may not reapply for AMCAS during the same application cycle.

Thanks Cat 🙁

Yea...I actually did great in VR and PS...but bombed my BS. I felt so confident went I left the test center too.... I'm thinking I'm just going to go to the Caribbean route now.

I ended up getting a 28Q but even with my 3.73, it's not good enough.

I really don't want to go through life having to explain to other Canadians what a DO degree it. I am not the trailblazer type! lol

Thank you for ALLLL your help 🙂
