Hey guys,

I'm registered for the Feb cDAT and planning to write it for the first time but now I feel like I'm far from being prepared because of the school work. I'll definitely write the Nov one but that would be my last and only chance if I'm applying for the 2016-17 cycle.

So my question is should I write the Feb one just to get some real test experience and be more prepared for the Nov cDAT or should I just not show up and focus on school courses first?

Thanks so much!!

You dont want to face the beast twice. It's ugly and once is enough.
If you dont feel prepare for Feb, dont do it. Then study real hard and take it later. However, taking it in Nov is a little late for the cycle imo.

If you're applying to only American schools consider taking the american DAT in the summer. That way you don't have to worry about classes and you'll still be early in the cycle. If you're applying to Canadian schools, then just take the November one and make sure your semester allows for the extra study time.

I found that knowing that I only had one shot at the dat for my application cycle helped me concentrate more and take the test seriously. I don't think I would have done well if I was going into the test thinking I have another chance. But I don't think there's any harm in just taking the feb one and then taking the nov one if you don't like your scores, the fees are nonrefundable anyways.

Thanks guys for your inputs!! I really appreciate!
I guess I'll just stay focus on my school courses for now and devote the summer break to DAT!

Thanks again 🙂

I know the February DAT already passed but for anyone else reading this and in this situation... you should still attempt to take it but obviously focus on your studies, thats number 1! Any school you apply to will consider your last DAT score but attempting it since you already paid will help give you a better idea of what its all about and can help you keep calm for when you really do it the second time.
