I'm couples matching, so I applied to a whole bunch of Radiology programs and their corresponding preliminary years at the same time. I now realize that applying to both simultaneously was a mistake; I'm going to try to keep 15-20 radiology interviews, and there's no way I can go on that many preliminaries as well- I'm shooting for maybe 5-7. I'd like to cancel most of the preliminary years that are far from my home institution to give myself time to go on the radiology interviews, but I'm concerned that canceling the prelims may negatively affect my chances at the Radiology programs. Is this an issue?

TL;DR: Will canceling prelim medicine/TY interviews negatively affect my chances at the corresponding Radiology programs?

As long as you do it enough in advance, can't see it being an issue. Don't think the programs would communicate except when matching up rank lists or if you just fail to show.
