I haven't been able to prepare very much for the 9/7 MCAT this year because of summer internships and classes. Currently averaging around low 30's on practice exams.

Should I just cancel the exam and go for the 1/24 exam, so I won't have to deal with writing either? I'm not quite sure what negative impact a retake might have, so should I just take the exam and retake it?

I'm not applying this year FYI.

Thanks!

I'm likewise curious about this topic. So far I feel like I didn't get enough out of my Kaplan course and am not prepared. Should I postpone? Will I lose the majority of the information I acquired over the summer? Will studying briefly ~5-8 hours a week over the school year and then 15-20 hours over mid Dec to Jan be enough to score high enough?

Sorry if I'm hijacking a bit.

It's over a small sample size because I only recently started taking practice tests. I'm not too confident I can replicate those scores because there are a few areas I'm still uncertain about. Plus, a low 30 isn't good enough for me because my GPA isn't that great. Aiming for 34+

The TPR books are pretty expansive and over a 5 month period you could probably solidify a lot of your weak areas (I'm guessing) if you study 5-6 hours every week. That's what I plan to do for Orgo and Physics

So tomorrow's the last day to cancel. Should I just go ahead and do it? What are the implications of retaking with a <30 score under your belt.

How do you know that the test will be offered on 1/24?

I say just take it later. If you're hitting low 30's without much studying, with studying you could probably hit mid-30's in january.

I was basing it off of this year's schedule. It'll likely be around that date. I'm hoping I can hit 34+ with a solid 4-5 months of prep. Just gotta focus on improving on physics and orgo

Oh ok. Cause these are the dates that I found on Kaplans website.

I may call Kaplan and ask where they got those dates from. They're probably an estimate.

To my knowledge, AAMC releases the dates for the following year around October. I'm hoping they release sooner. I start studying again this Saturday for the January test. I'll be pressed for time due to school, so I really need to schedule down to the very day. :scared:
