i notice that some of the moderately easy UW questions have ~ 60% of people getting them right.

i'm thinking that if you can't get most of these questions, you = fail the real step 2.

to the people with good scores on the real CK..... were you consistently answering the 60%er questions correctly?

I haven't taken Ck yet so take what I say with a grain of salt. There could be many reasons for why people aren't getting 60% of questions right. i.e. people using UW for rotations and not knowing the material yet, individuals studying for Ck who haven't seen peds in a year and think afterwards "oh yeah", or those who gloss over the question and miss the obvious clue leading to the answer. It would also depend on how you arrive at such an answer. I don't think missing the "60% of people got this correct" questions will result in failure. now, if you're missing 85-90% of people got this right, questions consistently, then you may be in trouble.

i always wonder about this too. do they count people who do these same questions untimed in the statistics, or in tutor mode? i think that has to play a certain role too. occasionally i find myself tempted to look in crush for a quick pick me up during an exam...it's sad i know.

it seems safe to say that one should definitely be getting the "65% got this right" questions.

they are just moderate difficulty.

I like to think "68% of people got this right" = everyone that matters.
and if you can't hang with the 68%, you're not safe.

At the same time, if you think about it, 32% of people get the questions wrong that 68% get right. Do you really think 32% of people who take Step 2 fail? I don't.

i think there is a good handful that would fail if they took it now.

all kinds of poor students are practicing with UW, including some FMGs, carib students, etc etc. They constitute part of that 32%. The remainder probably includes those that are just starting 3rd year and know nothing yet.
