took the DAT today was very very nervous and glad finally i can come and share my experience.
My study took over about 3-4weeks. 2weeks of 2-3hrs/day and then 2 weeks of 4-6hrs/day.
The materials i used include Kaplan(KBB), DAT destroyer, CDP, CDM, Achiever and topscore.

PAT 21
QR 24
RC 16<----------XD (i am illit. can't improve reading in 3-4weeks)
Bio 22
GC 25
OC 24
TS 24
AA 22

I am extremely happy with my score, though... before going to the test, i wrote an achiever exam this morning and got 27TS 🙂confused🙂 i usually get 16-18...

Anyway, this forum has been of tremendous help, i bought destroyer, CDP, CDM, Acheiver, Topscore all because students here recommended them. THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY.

PAT-CDP was getting 21-22, got 21 on the real thing, CDP is really good for all sections

QR-some wierd statistics and some tough questions, was getting 24-30 on CDM did 4 tests

RC-got floating bridges, epidemiology and nervous system. not a fan of reading off the computer and a weak english person overall, scored 16 on achiever

Bio-i had 2 pictures, no idea what they were, guessed, i guessed about 6 on bio and was very glad not all were wrong, in fact i think i guessed 1/2 correctly (some were educated guesses 😀) I am a chemistry student, i didn't really know much, so i read kaplan, cliffs AP(pretty good) and then hit destroyer, got destroyed! but kept on memorizing. I read alan's notes 2 days ago, and realized how comprehensive his notes have been, had i just memorized them earlier i'd have saved time on reading cliffs and summarizing... anyway, never scored above 20 on topscore

GC and OC-don't know where i lost my points, i went in hoping to do well, goal was 22 for each, i think Destroyer is the key for this. I hit destroyer right away, i am an organic chemistry specialist(that's my program in undergrad) so when i hit destroyer i was getting like 70-90% correct and i used topscore to polish up everything i didn't know. Acheiver also, but it was a real downer, kept on getting 18.

will post my topscore and achiever scores once i get back on my computer
Cheers

Wow, amazing TS!! Also, I would call up school you are applying to and ask about ur RC score. Congrats! 👍

Wow, well done! I especially envy your bio and GC scores.

Could you please email me alan's notes too please? ([email protected])
I am about to take the cDAT pretty soon and seriously freaking about about the biology section. 🙁
Thanks a lot...

Ahahah, and there you were so nervous just yesterday:scared::scared::scared:😛

CONGRATS!!! Great job😀😀. I knew you were gunna do great!!

So where exactly are these notes everybody is talking about?

Greenwave, who applied last year and is attending UTHSC-Houston, made a concise, set of notes for bio, chem, and ochem that he made during his studying and then used to review a few days before the exam. They're really quite good.

Sorry for hijacking your thread wantVCUdental....but congrats on your hard work, that's awesome.

thanks guys🙂 will be applying next week (super late)
sleepy thanks for the last minute confidence boosting. I was freaking out the day before, because if i messed up, this app cycle is over... and i wasn't doing hot on the practice tests, very happy it worked out though RC will kill my chances 🙁

Congratulations....awesome scores....especially QR. You knocked it out of the park for that one. Suprisingly, everyone thinks CDM was not worth the money but it looks like it helped you. Which do you prefer, Topscore or Achiever? Also, did you finish your AADSAS or only starting? Better get cracking!

Wow, your last Achiever science scores are nuts! I could never imagine getting that high on achiever. Great scores on the real thing too. Good luck on apps

Funny you should say that. He is still making a lot of note sheets in dental school, although I find they have a LOT of extraneous information, they are good. He's a nice guy too, and smart.

CDM is worth it to get a feel of the questions, though the DAT has a few tricky ones in there. I think practicing for QR is the key, Math has always been my strongest subject, so i only used it to gage my ability.
In terms of topscore vs achiever, my recommendation is do both! because subjects in both of them show up, not exact questions, but concepts that you should be familiar with.

If you are only willing to get one, then go with topscore, it is more similar to the real DAT

i am sry for those of you who haven't received the notes, i've received tons of PM and sent out about 50 emails to everyone and i have since deleted the notes because it is too much work on my side to keep track and sending them.
I hope you guys can understand that it is a busy time for me as i have not submitted my apps and i hope there was more i could do.
For those of you who have not received it, you are in no worse position in those who have. Just go through the Cliffs AP bio book and read endocrine and brain in KBB, if you go through those carefully you will come out on top of those who just rely on alan's notes. As previously mentioned, i only glanced over them and i don't think it contributed to my bio score in any way.
Just want to apologize again and I wish you guys the best in your preparations.

For bio, alans notes are actually like a compilation of cliffs bio material and random destroyer questions.. If you actually read cliffs ap bio and do the destroyer problems, it's much more helpful. You will seriously recognize most of the stuff on alan's notes word for word.... Maybe go over his notes after you've done cliffs+destroyer if you'd like... I didn't use alan's notes at all and it turned out alright for me as well 😀.

Oh and for chem and ochem, the notes are nowhere near as helpful as chads vids.
