I've searched the threads and must be spacing something b/c I cannot find where to indicate a retake on my app, frustrating since I'm ready to submit and can't seem to figure it out. I haven't gotten my scores back from my June 17th mcat obviously and I'm retaking Aug 13, I don't see a blank for if I plan to retake though, I just see this

Medical schools should expect scores from the following test date as your last set of calendar year 2010 MCAT scores:

If you want to make changes to any of this information, use the links on the right. If all of this information is accurate and complete, click Continue to proceed to the next section. You can also click Print to print a copy of this information.

Would I just put in the single entry for Aug 13, then? How do I show I took it in June but am retaking?

Go to the standardized testing section, and on the right click on the link for the "Next MCAT". Follow the prompts to enter your June MCAT and your August MCAT.

Future MCAT date is one of the few areas where you can go back into the application and change it after you submit. For now, I would proceed with the June 17 MCAT as your final test. Immediately after that score is available, if you decide to proceed with the August retake, go back into the Standardized Tests part of the program, click the new date box (a click should bring up the menu of all available dates), recertify, and schools will know to hold the application until the new score is back.

Hm, I've heard that I should do just the opposite and indicated that I'm retaking because if I don't it's much harder to add a retake later. What makes you say to not indicate a retake? I want to submit my app tonight so if you could let me know why I'd appreciate it

ie, if I don't indicate a retake and end up with say, a 24 (eek) and get screened out automatically. I def don't want this happening =/

i also don't see this link at all

Do you have reason not to be optimistic? What if you get a 30 and the school puts you on the 'wait for another result' pile?

Doing the opposite is fine too, if you can retract the retake designation quickly once the score is out and you like it. The important thing is that you know you can change the retake designation.

Ah ok, I had done this but everyone kept saying something about 'two slots' for the MCAT dates.
I just followed your advice and stuck with the one date, I'll change it if I do end up retaking.
And yea I am not too optimistic, my practices were around 28 after a ****ton of studying, sadly. I got stuck at that score throughout the last three exams too.

I'm glad to hear you got it figured out.

Someone posted yesterday that they left their MCAT thinking they'd scored a 6 and just found out they got a 30. The test may have seemed horrible, but sometimes the worst questions get thrown out for being badly worded, or they were "test" questions not meant to be included in the score, or in the process of 'norming' the score they will trim out some of the items. So don't give up hope unless you flat out never finished a good portion of a section.
