Can't find a single DO to shadow

Anyone have any idea or ways to find DO's to shadow. I've called over 20 different DO offices and haven't been able to find a single one that accepts student observers. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I found a few who accept students through my state’s osteopathic medical society!

I would go into a clinic or office personally and speak with the person up front. They will typically take your information down and you can speak with them for a few minutes. This is what I did, and I think it is more helpful when they meet you in person and put a face to a name rather than some random call. The hardest part is finding a DO who already doesn't have medical students with them, but I recommend giving it a shot (It worked in my case). @FreeRadicals

Try asking around the hospitals you volunteer/work at. I found this easier and DOs are more willing since they know youve already in the system and HIPAA compliant.

It takes months for that to happens. Various hospital volunteer trainings required which only happen a few times a year, but thanks will definitely look into it more!

You can cold call and hit them up for a visit or shadowing. My DO colleagues seem to like this when people do it.

Have you tried praying to AT Still? It’s worth a shot. Call OMT residency programs and ask. That’s how I got in.
