but also i helped my family by helping them with whatever else they needed... like doing errands and stuff... whats the word for that? how can i say it in one word...
i contributed financially and ___________
thanks

I can't think of the word for the blank, but maybe you could re-word the sentence. Anyway, you "fulfilled many family responsibilities...."

"I contributed financially and pragmatically."

:prof:

"I helped my family by contributing financially and also through daily chores and errands."

"I contributed financially and pragmatically."

:prof:

Pragmatically just seems so disconnected though. And I don't really feel like it fits here.

Pragmatically:

1.of or pertaining to a practical point of view or practical considerations.2.Philosophy. of or pertaining to pragmatism (def. 2). 3.of or pertaining to pragmatics (defs. 1, 2). 4.treating historical phenomena with special reference to their causes, antecedent conditions, and results.5.of or pertaining to the affairs of state or community.6.Archaic. a.busy; active.b.officious; meddlesome; interfering.c.dogmatic; opinionated.

" By doing the annoying $hit everyone else did not feel like doing."😀

Hospitably?

Check thesaurus.com for "helpful"

Hospitably still doesn't give the right feel for it. When I think of hospitable, I think of a welcoming nature, whether to strangers or otherwise.

From what I understand, you took on the job to help your family, and you also maintained other responsibilities within your family too. I still say it would probably be best to reword it.

any tips on how to reword it please
whats the best way?
thanks

Just adapt this to whatever your actual case is, but something like this.

Throughout college, I have maintained several family responsibilities, from ____ to ____. Also, My job at ____ as a ____ has allowed me to support my family financially.

Something along those lines... it gives it a personable and storylike quality...

thanks
the way you explain it does not flow with the way i wrote the paragraph
id have to rewire the entire paragraph
i just need that one word....

The decision to help my family in a time of crisis, by contributing financially and __________, proved the correct response....

Something like...

In a time of great need and uncertainty for my family, I decided I needed to step up and take on a supporting role to help endure our circumstances. I did w and x to provide financial/monetary support and did y and z to help otherwise, providing a foundation to alleviate the burden ... etc etc etc....

eh???

Just curious,
the summer of freshman year of college... is it technically the summer after freshman year or before?

The decision to help my family in a time of crisis, by contributing financially and __________, proved the correct response....

i want the blank to be a word that is not monetary... but a word that describes the help i did that wasnt monetary... like doing errands, cleaning, fixing, etc...

I've always thought about that one ... I'd vote the summer after, simply because you haven't yet matriculated to college the summer before you begin. So I am currently ending the summer of my senior year aka just graduated in May.

logistically?

waaaay to come up with it after me 😛

Got another idea, how about ...

"The decision to help my family in a time of crisis by contributing exhaustively, both financially/monetarily and otherwise, proved the correct response..."

so logistically fits?
the summer of freshman year of college... is it technically the summer after freshman year or before?

i contributed financially and manual laborly.

Adverbs are just annoying, in my opinion. They are seldom exact. Avoid them and use specific examples through verbs.

I supported my family by working a summer job, running errands, and so on....

more specific, the better.
