Hey guys, I was accepted into PT school for Fall 2012. In my pathophysiology class we spent a large amount of time looking at cardiovascular diseases. I really enjoyed learning about this topic and was very interested in it, so I'm looking into cardiovascular rehabilitation as something I could do as a future PT. Does anyone here have any experience in this field that they can share? For example, are PTs in this field more often inhospital and work more with MD/DOs to gather and collaborate information about the patient? And when do PTs come in and start treating a patient/what kinds of patients do they treat? So would they treat patients after more acute things like MI or do they also work with patients diagnosed with chronic heart failure? Thank you. Any insight into this field would be helpful.
