Hi,

I have a B.A. in Biology, GPA of 3.59 an science GPA of 3.64. Coming out of college, I thought I wanted to be a physical therapist; I applied and was accepted with ease at nearly every school I applied. However, it didn't feel like the right fit for many reasons and I passed on getting my DPT.

Since that time, I have worked at a hospital for a full year and taught science and math for the past three years. Teaching has been great, but its not a long-term job for me. I've debated dental school for the past year or so, talking with dentists and figuring out if I would enjoy it. The answer appears to be yes. Some issues - I never took General Chem II or Biochemistry as an undergrad. I did take Organic I & II, Physics I & II, and a ton of Bio courses (including Biogeochemistry..too bad it won't count!).

Do I enroll in a medical master's program? Or, take these two classes by themselves and then prep for the DAT? Or, some other plan of action? I'm 26, so I feel like time is ticking...

You were able to jump to organic without completing a full year of gen chem? See section on prerequisites.

My college offered two different types of intro chemistry courses....General Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. So, my transcript states "General Chemistry w/ lab." Inorganic was not required for Organic I, but General Chem was. Inorganic was required for Chem majors. I dodged it and move straight to Organic for fall of my sophomore year.

Don't do any type of mastes.... just enroll into any undergrad institude as a 2nd bachelors degree seeker (aka "informal post bacc"), and complete those general chemistries and whatever else you need (also, DO NOT obtain a 2nd bachelors ~ its just the title the school will give you when you get in)

Take the DAT and apply, you have a very good GPA, assuming 19-20 DAT, and apply 12-15 schools and you'll be in good shape
