I'm filling out my CAS application and have a question regarding the final page. There is an area of free text entry for me to enter my personal statement, but there are several other areas for things like "public service and activities" and "outside interests and hobbies." Are these areas meant for additional essays or are they looking more for bullet-point lists? I can't find any guidelines for how to fill this out.

Thanks for any advice you are able to provide!

I would list in bullet point format with brief description after each if appropriate. This makes it easier for the reader to review.

The personal statement and career goals section should be written in essay format in my opinion.

However, there is no right or wrong way to fill the application out. The exact format is probably reflective of the applicant in some ways. The only rules are: 1) It should be easy to read. 2) It should be neat. 3) There must be no mistakes. 4) All sections must have something in them.

Thanks for the response. After doing some research, I've discovered that the application is an online submission now (rather than printing a PDF and mailing it in as it has been in the past). This change is new this year. It may sound convenient, but this means you can't see the final PDF version before submitting it and more importantly, you can't use a PDF editor to change fonts or formatting. Once you hit the submit button, all changes are final! Yikes! :scared:
