Hi
I sent my application in this Tuesday at the adress that CAS provided. Why don't they have their own mailing adress but raher as c/o Union Bank. My application is picked up by someone there on thursday AM(according to online tracking)but when I called SFmatch they said that nothing shows in the computer.. Should I be worried about it? what should I do if they still don't have by this coming wednesday?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I never saw any CAS addresses that were c/o Union Bank. I sent mine to the address included in the CAS manual. Check pages 11 and 12 of the CAS manual. There are two addresses, one for regular mail and one for overnight mail. The regular address is a PO Box and the overnight address is a street address (probably their office), both in San Fran.

Where did you find this Union Bank address??

I called them about that and they told me that that is the correct adress, and that they had recently changed it, but that in any of those would be ok. If you go now at and download the manual you will see it under overnight mail.

Hey medonly,
I just sent my app yesterday to the the old address, 655 Beach Street instead of the Union Bank one...did you say that when you called, they said that either address would be alright to send to? Thanks.

hey guys,
so I also sent it to the Union Bank address because someone applying to neurosurgery told me to call SFMatch and make sure that I had the correct address. Apparently, the union bank address is the new and revised one that they haven't been able to update in the CAS manual. But if you send it to the address in the CAS manual, it will eventually get to the right place--but not as soon as if you send it to union bank. I'm sure it's not a big deal or a big difference.

How long after the aplication arrives does it take for them to put it in the computer or at least let you know that they have picked it up. Also have they heard of online applications?

seriously...i feel like they're so primordial. everyone uses the internet nowadays! So I submitted my application on Tuesday night and I tracked it to have been received on Wednesday night. I didn't get an e-mail from them until Friday. I heard the scanning into the computer can take up to 2-3 weeks.

From the time it arrives in their mail room and someone scans the barcode to register it in the computer takes about three days. The turnover time to the list of programs on your distribution list is about 3 weeks.

thank you everyone. I will give them until wednesday and then I will have to aske people for LORs again. I just hope it won't be too late.

I called the office, and they said that the new address (c/o Union Bank) is so any enclosed checks can be removed and cashed. Only then do the applications get forwarded to the SF office. So technically, your application will "get there faster" if you use the old address, but I'm not sure how that translates to how quickly it gets processed (they may have to mail it to the bank and then wait for it to come back).

Good luck everyone!
