Hey, just wondering if anyone else has yet to hear back from these 2 schools....I've been verified since mid-June, so I dont know whats taking so long.

Hmm, it would appear that I'm the only person (or at least one of very few) who has not yet heard from MCO. I think I'll give them a call Monday morning and see whats going on....

FYI: Starting with the class of 2009, Case will require students to do a medical thesis.

Beginning for the class of medical students entering the University program in 2005, a thesis will be required for graduation. The objective of this new requirement is to provide the students with an opportunity to pursue an area of interest in greater depth than can presently be accomplished within the curriculum. The thesis will also allow students to acquire tools and experience in asking questions, critically assessing literature, and other aspects of the life-long pursuit of learning that is a critical aspect of the career of all physicians and physician/scientists. The topic of the thesis is as varied as the range of interests of the students. It includes opportunities to pursue basic, translational, clinical, or population-based research or other forms of scholarly work. This requirement will also provide a formal mechanism for students to develop interactions with an advisor who has expertise in shared interests.

Definitely glad. Additional requirements suck. Although, I'll probably end up doing a research project and doing some kind of thesis.

I just called Case and asked, and they said that yes, they do have my application on file. The lady I talked to then said that they send out 50 secondaries every day, so I'm just gonna have to wait my turn. I'm guessing they don't necessarily do it in the order that the AMCAS apps were recieved though, since I've been verified for a looong time now. How irritating 😱

are you at the end of the alphabet, by chance? because i've been verified forever and still haven't heard from Case and my last name starts with 'Z' - so i was hoping that's their excuse! my friend who was verified after me got his like 2 weeks ago, and he's a 'C'....yes - it's irritating!

My last name starts with "K," so if the alphabet theory is true, that is where they are at. That seems like a weird method, though. Lol.

That's dumb. Mine's H so I knew it wasn't that and I have decent stats. I guess I'll just have to be patient. I wonder what their process is. I'm now only waiting for them and Stanford and Stanford from what I've heard screens heavily.

I got my case secondary at 12:15 a.m. this evening. whoa...i guess they have it on auto-send 🙂

I was verified on 6/17 (or really close to then, not on my computer, so i can't look it up for sure)

I got mine from Case around 9 pm pacific time although I completed and sent mine in while back. I was able to retrieve my password before they notified me. My last name is H.

I sent my application in on 7/24. That's about 2 weeks before I got my official invite. My AMCAS was verified on 6/10.

* 4504 apps / 50 apps per week = 90 weeks!!! That's almost two years!!! They must be doing more than that. I really do think it's close to 50 per day, NOT week.

By the way, does anyone know if Case screens? Because if they do, I might be up a **** creek (because I have yet to receive my invite!)

Hmm, yea I guess 50 a week doesnt really make any sense. It must be per day after all. Well I'm still waiting for mine, here's hoping it comes sometime this week still......the most annoying part is that I've been verified a lot longer than some people I know who already got the secondary weeks ago 😡

Well guys, there is hope! I just recieved my secondary invite about 10 minutes ago. The bad news is, the first essay sucks, I have no idea what I'm gonna write. Basically you have to write no longer than 2 pages about something non-medicine related. Anyone have any ideas/hints about how to go about figuring out what to write?
