Case Western denial

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
When I called Case before, they also said that they were big on GPA. I just recently called them to. 😕

Wish I had known this beforehand so I can skip Case. Hopefully I'll get noticed by others that are big on DAT. 😀

Case cares a lot about research and gpa , especially science course load
It is a P/F school and they get a lot of applicants don't be discouraged hang in their folks

I know this is an old thread but....
Is it really a P/F school?
I've seen this written in multiple threads, some say P/F and others say letter grades?

can any current Case students clarify this for me? thank you!

I've been reading the posts on this site for a while. I know that some advice is helpful, so I am posting to get your opinion on what I should do now. I have already been denied by Case Western 🙁 I don't know why all it says in AADSAS is application denied. It hurts a little that I wasn't even invited for an interview. I know of a student that was accepted there for this fall who got a 18 on the DAT and has a 3.4 GPA. He is part Hispanic although he doesn't know Spanish and wasn't raised in that culture. I just can't figure out how they accept people with 18 DAT and worse GPA than me and then don't even offer an interview? Is this a trend with dental schools or does Case Western have stricter guidelines for Caucasians? I'm just scared that other schools are the same and this is the first school I've heard from. In cases like this is it okay to call the school and ask why I was denied?

Even getting an interview does NOT guarantee you an acceptance. There are people who interview at every school who will have higher stats than you and still get denied. Don't compare yourself to other applicants (especially since there are things such as ethnicity, which I doubt is the reason that person got in) due to the fact that there are things you cannot control.

Give Case a call and express your interest again and ask for factors that may have limited your application. If you plan on reapplying I would also ask what they think would strengthen your application for the next cycle.

Best of luck to you

Looks like Case used to be P/F, and now it changed to letter grades? Not too sure.
