Hello,

I was wondering how the FAFSA gets linked to your dental school account. I know I entered the school code, but when I filled out the Case Breifcase application it stated that I hadn't completed my FAFSA which was processed 5/2/2011. Does it take time to link the accounts?

Any additional advice?

Thanks!

When your dental school receives your completed FAFSA from the Department of Education, they will update all of the required forms you will need to fill out. Most likely they will email you a link to the Dep of Ed site where you will fill the MPNs and other forms out to certify that you agree to the conditions of all the loans. There will be a drop bar where you select the school you're attending when you go to fill out Staffords/GradPlus/etc...loans. This is how my school does it anyway, but you may want to email your financial aid advisor and ask him/her what the process is. It's good to have a relationship with your FA because they can also let you know about any scholarships/programs you may be eligible for. Email them and stay in touch, you're paying through the nose to get your dental education...may as well use ALL the resources you can. Good luck!
