I am so thrilled to have acceptances from both schools, but I am having a difficult time deciding. I don't want to make a mistake and pick the wrong school. For Michigan, I also have to take a pre-req (Soc) but I'm scared incase the class i'm taking gets dropped or something happens. Michigan also offered me a 10k scholarship each year. Oh and I am out of state for both options. Any advice?

PM me for any Michigan questions that you have.

I might be a little biased, but I would go Michigan all the way. Case Western is very expensive and I don't really enjoy the Cleveland area. (Even though I love the school and it's program is outstanding.) Are there any personal factors that might influence the decision for you? Is one a lot farther from your family than the other? Have you taken the time to analyze the actual cost difference between both? Either way, you're making a great decision, but to me you just can't beat U of M.

choose whichever is cheapest. i rated both schools virtually equally in terms of everything else outside of cost.

seems pretty selfish. do you believe nobody else on this forum would benefit from your insight?

THANK YOU for taking the time to reply to my post 🙂

There are no personal factors, both are really far from home! I'm from Cali! As far as cost, U of M does seem cheaper, but I haven't received any information regarding scholarships from case. I'm going to call them on Monday and ask about that! I guess one area of concern that I have is that some people on SDN have mentioned that the patient pool is not as great at U of M as it is at Case. Would you say that is true?

That makes me feel better that you rated both schools equally! I will speak with financial aid and figure out what the cost difference will be 🙂

I'm sure a current dental student could answer this better than I can, but I made sure I asked about this extensively at the interview because it's important to me, too. I know CWRU has a crazy good patient pool, however no student I talk to at UMich had any problem getting patients. They said that there was a good rapport between classes too, and if someone needed a requirement fulfilled, a different student with that same requirement already done would give their patient to the other student to help them out. But yeah, like I said, no one I talked to expressed any issues with getting patients. Hope this helps!
