Hello everyone

I recently submitted my deposit to Case Western, I was also invited to interview at Tufts today.
Case would cost me around $400K and Tufts would cost me $420K.

I'm not too sure which school is better able to prepare me to be a dentist or specialize

I like Case but everyone on here doesn't seem to like Cleveland
I'm not too sure what Boston is like either.

Any input would be great! Thank you

Boston is expensive. Are you sure the cost difference is only about 20K. Doc Toothache's numbers show the difference at closer to 50K. You can't go wrong with either school though. I haven't seen anyone dislike Cleveland but maybe. Boston is a great place to visit but I couldn't deal with living there with the traffic, but that is me.

Hello ajj70

I am not entirely sure, all I did was add up the costs including living expenses using the data on their websites and i got a 20-25K difference.

I've interviewed at both schools and I think Case has a better program than Tufts. Their class is smaller and the program itself to me is pretty amazing, but I would say that I like the location of Tufts better because it's in Boston. Cleveland to me seems so depressing.
You should go to the interview at Tufts and see.

I have lived in both cities. Boston is very expensive and you aren't going to have a lot of time to do fun stuff all day. Go there for a vacation. Cleveland is fine - it is not the same city it was even just 10 years ago. It is much cheaper than Boston and you can easily find an affordable place within walking distance of the school. The class size is also way smaller, which I would consider a plus.

Case Western

Positives:
-smaller class size (75)
-less expensive
-clinical coordinator schedules your patients for you

Negatives:
-Cleveland

Tufts

Positives:
-strong clinical reputation
-Boston

Negatives:
-larger class size (200)
-more expensive

Can't go wrong with either school.

Tufts is around 60K more expensive than Case.

Case Western I believe has a new building for dental/medical/nursing coming soon. How it will impact your tuition costs is unknown. Still cool to be a part of something new.

If you're still uncertain, I think you should go to the Tufts interview and get a feel for the place, if you are able.
