Case Western vs. UMass

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Can't speak from personal experience as a student, and have no knowledge/nothing to say re: Mass. But from my interview at Case (and conversations with some friends there - also full transparency, declined my WL there), I have heard that there is an extremely collaborative and fun environment among the students, and that it is not very competitive or cutthroat. See if you can get in touch with some current students to ask their opinions, but your comments were inconsistent with at least my impression and what I've heard. It also helps that exams are like every 3 months (fact check this but something like that lol) so stress is never too high. I honestly had a great impression of the school.

Do you know what you're trying to specialize in, and if you want a more academic career or not? // what are your career goals (if you have any, no worries if you don't)? If they do tend towards more competitive specialities or academic/research, my gut would tell me to lean Case, but again my opinion is likely biased by a positive impression of case and no knowledge about Mass, so take this with grains of salt!
