Apparently Case doesn't consider math professors a valid form of science faculty. I got a letter from them a few weeks back stating that they were still waiting for my second science lor. I mailed in 1 from an employer, 1 from genetics prof, and one from math prof. Do you think this is a mistake on their part or they really don't accept math professors as legit science faculty?

i just checked on their website and it says that 2 letters from professors in the "basic sciences"

I don't think most schools consider math professors as science professors. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are the sciences that they look for.

Basic sciences includes math. All other schools i applied to accept math lor as a science.

AADSAS and schools go off of your BCP - so they pretty much call that the sciences.

Hmmm... they want basic science e.g. prereq classes? I wonder if it's ok to have letters from upper level science courses. In my opinion, i don't see why not. But who knows. Anybody know?

I see what you are saying..genetics is not a basic science. Hmm...that could be a problem seeing that I already applied there. ****.

I have a feeling though that it's the math LOR that they have a problem with - not the genetics. YOu should ask them to clarify.
