I've just heard of CASPer Test today. Can anyone give me more information about this? I'm applying to texas MD, is it just for MD/PhD dual program? Is it too late to have it for this cycle?

Thanks!

It's not too late to have it this cycle - and a lot of programs are incorporating CASPer as apart of their admission process now. There is an official CASPer website where you can read more about the official CASPer as well.

All of these schools require it:

It is $10 a school for what amounts to a 90 minute exercise in your determining your ability to be lawful good.

Is it ok to take it after secondary applications? I want to finish up all of my applications to not being so late in the cycle.

I mean, yes for most schools. There are one or two that won't consider you complete for your secondary until CASPer is complete, however.

Also, you literally DO NOT have to study for CASPer and it is like a 2 hours time commitment. It will not delay your application to take it early. It can delay your application by as much as a month if you do it late.

You take it at home on your own computer so there's no filling up of slots & not really any kind of intense preparation so not really a reason to do it later since it'll only take 90 minutes. Some schools require it (but fewer actually use it as an admissions criterion, many are still piloting it) just check and see if any of the ones on your list want it. At least it's not as expensive as the MCAT

I also just found out about this test a few days ago. I'm signed up to take it next week. Will taking it at the end of June delay my application in any way? I made sure to submit my primary super early, so I'm a little bummed this has the potential to set me back.

AFAIK you're fine. All the CASPer schools I've seen require your score to be considered for an interview, not to receive a secondary. Take it next week and the score will be transmitted in late July, while you're working on your secondaries. You can easily be complete by early August if you stay on top of your secondaries.

Shouldn't delay you significantly. Some schools also send out interviews before the CASPer score is recieved, but some wait for it. I know VCU sends out interviews before your CASPer score is transmitted, but any final decisions (Accpetance, Rejected, WL etc.) won't be made until score is received.
