Same question, also when is it ideal to take it during the application cycle? I know it is online and you can take it anytime.

Schools that require Casper won't consider your application complete until they receive your score. I would do it asap if you're applying right now. But if you haven't applied yet, personally I took it at the same time as I submitted my primary and that turned out fine.

You don't need to study for it but you may want to familiarize yourself with the format. The tutorial is good for that. Scores can take around 4 weeks to be sent to your programs.
The test seems to screen out people who would do very poorly in an interview, but some people think it screens for psychopathic tendencies lol.

Well then I would be consider late for those schools then because the earliest I can schedule for it is Oct 23 and if I can't finish my secondary by thanksgiving then it means late right. What if some school only recommend it? Then they might still send me the secondary while the test is processing?

You can get secondaries without casper. They will just not review your application until they have your casper scores in. By the time you get your scores it, it might be pretty late. Some schools (definitely not all) will have filled their class and interviews may be for the waitlist. Good luck!

Because CASPer is relatively new for some schools they may interview and hold their decision until the results are received.

Don't stress too much about the score. No one really knows how much weight it carries in your app. Watch some YouTube videos and get familiar with the format, practice typing (a higher WPM is a massive advantage), and make sure your answers are reasonable.

Speed is important on CASPer, so be warmed up when you take it (literally and metaphorically). I wouldn't take it in a cold room, as ridiculous as that sounds.
