So...I've read some threads after searching, but I was a bit unclear on something.

Are folks putting casual hobbies down in the Work/Activities section? I found plenty on hobbies that people are a bit more hard-core about, like running marathons or doing dance for 10+ years. But what about smaller things that are less time-intensive? For example, I'm teaching myself to play guitar (though I'm far from good yet), I read a lot of theology and philosophy (yeah I'm a nerd), I hunt/fish pretty regularly, do some trap shooting, and I'm considering picking up BJJ (done Judo/wrestling in the past). Should I leave maybe one spot for these in my activities if there is room? Seems to me that it would help show well-roundedness, but again you wouldn't necessarily put that stuff on a resume.

Thoughts? LizzyM or any other adcom's have suggestions?

I'm putting my band down. We've self-produced 13 albums in 4 years, so I figure that's extreme a hobby enough to make someone think it's impressive. We've played some shows, too. In that entry I also put down that I taught myself how to play guitar since being in college (I'm a self-taught drummer originally).

I figure this stuff is probably refreshing to the people who have the misfortune of reviewing this stuff. I'm sure after seeing an infinite amount of "shadowing", "volunteering", and "research" entries they'd like to see something else for a change.

The rest of your app looks solid, so I'm sure this can add some good flavor to your work/activities!

I stuck all of that in a single entry. Ended up talking about photography for about 25 minutes with one of my interviewers. Everyone has shadowed and volunteered, take the opportunity to make yourself a least a little different.
