Catalysts have which of the following effects on a chemical reaction?

A. They lower the activation energy.
B. They increase the free energy.
C. They cause the reaction to proceed spontaneously.
D. They increase the rate at which the product is formed.
E. They shift the equilibrium so that the reverse reaction proceeds more easily.

Now this is from the barrons book. The first practice test. I chose A. but the stupid book says its B!!!.....and i missing something here!!! 😱

If all of the chloride in a 5.0 gram sample of an unknown metal chloride is precipitated as AgCl with 70.9 mL if .201 M AgNO3, what is the percentage of chloride in the sample?

Hey i hit this problem and im its kinda fishy....

An Alloy contains atoms of

A. one element and has properties of a metal.
B. more then one element and has properties of nonmetals.
C. one element and has properties of nonmetals.
D. more then on element and has properties of a metal.
E. one elemet and has the roperties of a semiconductor.

I thought an alloy was a mixture of solid and a solid????so i went with D. but it says its A.

Dude, stay away from freakin Barrons...just use the review material and by all means stay away from the problems.

That is BS...

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin...end of discussion.

Im trying to stay sharp on my chem....but the only practice i have is destroyer and the practice tests....i want some good representative problems from other sources.....in other words.....i wanted to take a practice test to measure my stamina....and all i had was barrons.....and i dont wanna waste my topscore tests till the week before the exam.

If I were in your shoes, I would just drive to barnes and nobles right now and pick up princeton review ap chemistry or peterson's ap chemistry for 15 bucks.

Or you can try these

Beware, the problems are difficult and may shatter your confidence. Also, the compuation problems require a calculator as a simple scientific calculator is permited.
