CBY or CA-1

Planning on doing an Anesthesiology residency after completing my IM residency and becoming board certified in both. After IM would I need to apply to programs beginning at the CBY (PGY 1) or can I just apply to the CA-1(PGY 2) advanced spots? Any insight greatly appreciated!
