So I did not realize until very recently that there may be certain schools that have an issue with a couple of my prerequisites coming from a CC...

I graduated from a 4 year with a 3.7ish gpa and have good grades in all my other sciences, but I did not get a chance to take Gen Bio I & II. I am currently taking them at CC before my impending DAT and I was wondering if I should avoid applying to certain schools because of CC prereqs, or if I should be okay applying to most?

Thanks ahead of time.

Depends on the schools. Some don't allow CC credits for prerequisites. Other schools are okay with them. You need to find the schools you are interested in and see if they accept them.

So, specifically I had seen something on here about temple and tufts not being fans of them. But when I was looking on their websites I didn't see anything specifically saying that. I wasn't sure if that was just an old practice of theirs of if I had just missed it.

You're right about that. Temple, Tufts, BU (probably some others) don't take CC credits. I couldn't find it on their respective websites either, but it's in the official ADEA guide to dental schools. So, @OP you should be mindful of these schools and not waste money applying to them. Good thing its only a handful that flat out say no to CC pre reqs.

If the school says they'll accept AP and CC credit but strongly recommend taking them at a 4-year it basically means you're at a disadvantage, right?

Not necessarily. Nobody but admissions can really give you a for sure answer though. I know NYU doesn't recommend cc credit and it doesn't stop then from interviewing me. Most of my prerequisites are from CC.
