I am extremely grateful to be in this position; I just got off the WL at CCLCM and Mt. Sinai within 24 hours and wanted some insights into helping me decide. Insights from current CCLCM and Mt. Sinai students would be even better as well!
CCLCM pros (0 tuition, just cover living)
- Cleveland Clinic has a huge name, ranked #2 hospital (unsure about medical school ranking)
-top top match list
- no grades, no exams, students seem much less stressed
- small class size so individualized attention and mentoring
-amazing research opportunities
Cons
- worried about the actual medical school ranking (vs hospital and residencies)
-degree conferred from case western not from CCLCM (case rank is 24/25 ish)
- unsure if we will have our own classes and professors or is it the same and mixed in with Case students
Sinai Pros (0 tuition, just cover living)
- amazing institution ranked 18th ish and has high prestige (higher than case)
- great research opportunities as well
- students seem quiet happy with curriculum, and P/F
- most students get honors in clinical
cons
- much bigger class so cant connect as much with professors
- new curriculum, unsure if its good or not
-rotations can be brutal in NYC
- a lot of people take scholarly year anyways
Can whoever votes give reasoning for why they voted***
Would love some help and insight and if you vote I will be so happy to know your reasoning! Any current students please let me know!! Thank you!
