My AACOM primary was sent to CCOM on October 12th, I then submitted my secondary application near the end of October. I haven't sent my letters of recommendation yet because I am waiting for a D.O. to complete it, am I lowering my chances of admission as the days go by? Should I send in my other recs first and then send the DO's rec once its completed?

If for instance, CCOM receives all my materials by the end of next week and my credentials grant an interview, how long do they take after the completion of a file to send out interviews?

Any input would be appreciated.

If the other recommendations are done, there is no reason not to send them out now. Chances are your file will not be considered for an interview before it is complete (lor's, payment, any misc transcripts they request, etc).

On the issue of passing days lowering acceptance chances, it probably depends on how strong of a candidate you are. Best of luck.

CCOM takes long time in processing files. Mine was completed before my MCAT scores came out and still haven't heard anything from them.

hmmm....that's news to me!

When I applied, I sent my primary on Oct. 31. I then interviewed around Dec. 12. That's pretty damn quick if you ask me!

Thank god...I thought it was just me. I have been complete since end of Aug and thought i was a pretty competitive application with a 27/3.8. I also havent heard from NYCOM or either PCOMs. What gives?

That is 100% false. I think they got back to me within two weeks of sending in my secondary materials.

First, I haven't heard from either NYCOM or PCOM. My files have been complete since mid-August. I know that they do take care of in-states first then move outward. I'm on the west coast so I may not hear from them for a while longer.

I had my files complete at CCOM around mid-August. I was notified of interview mid to late September. I interviewed on 10/4, and I recieved an acceptance call on 10/27 or so.

Thanks. I am indeed an international applicant. I'm no special though, and I know there are a lot more successful international applicants. I think osteopathic schools are very international friendly unlike the allopaths. I have not had a sigle good news from them.

Also I am suffereing now for almost 5 years at a Ph.D program. I'm ready to leave this place soon.

Good luck on your application process!

Well not really. It has happened to me. As I said, file was completed before August MCAT scores came out and still haven't heard anything from them. Actually none of them except DMU.

Yeah I am an international student too.

vimal....because you haven't heard from a school does not mean that they are slow. Here at CCOM, things generally proceed rather quickly. There may be lots of reasons that you haven't heard anything yet.

Just remember, no news is better than bad news.

good luck to you.

Yeah that's true, no news is better than bad news. That's why I have decided not to call them until December 1st. I will call them after 1st december to know what's going on.

Guys,
I just wanted to keep you all updated on CCOM schedule.I spoke with someone at CCOM and this is what I got?
"We will be reviewing the next set of files in december (may be early dec ) and would schedule interviews for those people sometime in February as all our interview spots for december and January are already full......"

I think when they say next set of files means all the ones who took MCAT in august and whose files were completed by late october or early november. But this is my wild guess and not sure about it.

I would reccomend calling them ASAP. By calling and showing interest in CCOM, they would be more than willing to help you out. Schools know that med school applicants usually apply to 10+ schools and by showing interest in a specific college, I think you would seem like a stronger applicant in their eyes.

Yeah I finally decided to call them. I called them and they said my file was completed late october and it takes about 4 weeks for file to be reviewed. So I will hear in few weeks !!

I interviewed last Monday and they said we would know by Thanksgiving....I am anxiously awaiting the decision. I only sent out secondaries to OU and CCOM and I was really, really impressed with what CCOM had to offer.
