Best of luck to you HoosierDO!! I will love having someone like you with me at CCOM. You seem so enthusiastic about CCOM, and I hope the adcom sees that in you also. Anyway, GOOD LUCK!! 🙂

Thats is some great news!!! I, like yourself, am also on the alternate list, I hope everything goes well and we both get in...thanx for the info. PS did admissions tell you if they are going to take people off of the waitlist?

hey Hoosier...
actually i just wanted to say hi... i think we interviewed together up in CCOM back in march... i'm gonna pm you in a second..
good luck !! let us know any news.

Hey guys,

I too am on the alternate list at CCOM. I have a few questions/concerns. Do they notify by phone first, then send a written notification or do they do only one? Second, if they contact you, say 2 days before orientation(which I read on SDN happened to one person ), do they honestly expect you to be there and ready to go in time? I have been in recent contact with an admissions counselor and he told me they take off the waitlist up to the first week of class. I'm living in Erie, PA right now expecting to go to LECOM and if by chance I did get in(assuming I'd make the decison to leave LECOM), how do they expect me, and my wife, to get there on such short notice? It took us more than a week to pack to come out here- we could never do it in 2 days. Plus, we'd have no place to live and no family to stay with. If by chance I did get the "call", I'd seriously consider coming but I'm scared that I'd never make it in time.

well i know the answer to the first question...qhich is that i have been informed that they will call you, and that they do not/will not give up your spot until they hear back from you if they dont get you the first time!!! as for moving...yeah i think they expect you to be ready to go...sort of hard to imagine...hopefully we will all hear soon...maybe some tomorrow!!! who knows!!!

Hi everyone......I wish I could give some good news but I talked to Raelene and she said that as of now they have not decided on the alternate list b/c there have not been enough withdraws. They will not meet again for several weeks and we just need to be patient and wait. Good luck, everyone.

Several weeks?!? Doesn't school start at CCOM soon?

Raelene told me it would be "several weeks" before the admissions committee takes any further action. I think orientation is the last week of August so we still have a little less than 2 months left. Lets just hope that the withdraws start rolling in....PS If anyone is going to withdraw let us know!!!

Hi everyone,

I wish you all the best of luck with the waitlist. I hope that we become classmates.

Just to let you know, CCOM is one of the later starting med schools. Orientation doesn't even begin till the 3rd of Sept, and classes don't start till the 8th. So you have plenty of time! Good luck! 🙂

gosh this is just torture...all i want is a good nights sleep...but i guess id rather know not to sit by the phone!!! thanks for the update...keep in touch

While we are all waiting, a question keeps coming up.....when did CCOM start accepting applicants off of the alternate list last year?

I'm not exactly sure when they start taking people from the waitlist, but I know that they take people all the way up until school starts. One of my close friends in our class (2006) got in 10 days before school started. Also, they weren't home when the school called and the admissions person told whoever took the message that they had to hear back before the end of the day, or they would lose that spot and it would be offered to someone else.
