Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any good experiences with the Cedars Sinai program they would like to share. I am currently a CCE at Hoag, and it is very boring and dual.

I am also shadowing a doctor as well, but was wondering if the Cedars Sinai program would provide me with more exposure so as to enhance my volunteering experience?

Thanks in advance!

It would probably be best to speak with the director/coordinator of the Cedar Siani program. Ask them about the type of experience that you'll get. However, I think that if you complete that 240? hour CCE program at hoag, that should satisfy for your clinical EC experience. Doing another one of those programs would be overkill. Maybe it would be best to get some community volunteer experience next.

I am going to take the 3rd training day test for CCE Hoag tomorrow. I was wondering if it was possible to do that program and complete the full 280 hours to graduate it and then do another clinical internship/volunteer type thing in place of research? How is CCE Hoag boring though? Not disagreeing with you ,but I was just wondering why people find it boring.

I think that the admissions committee will see two clinical internships as kind of redundant. They have X-Ray vision that lets them see through these things, but if the new internship is markedly different from CCE such as clinical research or something like that or research at a hospital I'm sure it would be a positive thing.

I'm on the Leadership Team for CCE (all of those people you see at your Training Days doing the lectures and showing you how to feed patients, etc.) and it is a rewarding experience. You can be on the Leadership Team while completing your 240 hours, and after you do the 240 floor hours, you can just be on the Leadership Team independently. That means you no longer have to do floor hours and you can just relax and do office hours, training days, orientation interviews, etc. It's something worth looking into if you're interested!

Thanks for the quick response!
And I was at the last 2 training days last week, they were really interesting, and I am looking to apply to leadership if I get in and complete my first rotation. I'm currently studying for the written exam with the powerpoint material and I think i'll be okay with it, but I'm really nervous about the practical exam because I kept messing up the procedures during training day 2 and I guess I got really nervous and awkward throughout it alot. How do you recommend studying for the practical part? Thanks again.

Were you the feeding station teacher? I think my group was the last or near last group at that station, and I kept messing up the order of patient-feeding alot.
