Can someone please help w/ cell resp..I just want to make sure I have the basic points down, & let me know if anything needs to be added.
THANKS

Glycolysis: 2 ATP used>>4 ATP formed (2 net gain)
2 pyruvic acid, 2 NADH, & 2Water formed

Oxidation: Pyruvate converted to acetyl co-a
2 CO2 lost, 2 AcetylCoA and 2 NAD(??) enter Kreb's

Kreb's: NAD & FAD are reduced to 6 NADH & 2FADH2
CO2 is lost, 2 ATP (net gain); O2 is e-acceptor

E-TC: NADH produces 3ATP, FADH2 produces 2
O2 is final e- acceptor>>yields H20
32 NET GAIN
36>>EUKS
38>>PROKS

I don't think they asked anything that specific. Maybe the easier one to remember like how many for glycolysis or the total amount of ATP. Or even what formed the most out of a certain step.

I don't remember anything that specific either, but might be good to know.

I'll correct what you put anyways. For oxidation, 2NADH come out and don't enter the Kreb's cycle but go to the ETC. Oxygen doesn't take electrons until ETC so take it out of the Kreb's cycle. The net ATP yield of ETC is 34. You probably want to know what chemiosmosis is too since that is an important part of it.

okay...this may be a no brainer for most of you but i'll post it up anyway

Glycolysis: cytoplasm

Oxidation: matrix

Kreb's: matrix

E-TC: inner mito. membrane

yes - these are the types of q's and ans's that were on aug pcat...nothing as detailed as americandesi...except i remember one q that asked about net ATP from glycolysis

Thanks fenixfan for corrections.

If anaerobic, the 2 pyruvic from glycolysis are converted to ETHANOL & CO2??
OR
Pyruvate is converted to LACTIC ACID

In both of those rxns, 2ATP Net Gain, NAD+ regenerated, & Acetaldehyde is the final e-acceptor???

Are all those points right/?
