Hello,

For those of you who have recently passed the National PTCE using Mr. Reifmans Review manual, how many of the Sample Practice Exams did you work through and how applicable were the Q/A compared to the actual exam?

Thanking you in advance.

-Tavit 👍

Tavit -- that is the only book I used to pass the exam and the Reifman sample exams are excellent preparation for the actual exam itself. I went through only a couple of the exams thoroughly and many similar questions appeared on the PTCE. Know your conversions inside-out. If you can do those exams and understand the answers, the test will be easy. You are given 3 hours to do the test, so take your time and relax. I studied for about a week. The Noah Reifman book is equivalent to Kaplan for the PCAT -- outstanding. It covers what you need to know.

math was very easy, but refresh your memory on conversions such as:
- be able to convert teaspoons and tablespoons to mL
- know what a drams and scruples are (apothecary system)
- pounds to kilograms, liters to milliliters, etc.

sample conceptual questions on the PTCE were as follows:
- what color bottles are used to prevent light degradation? (amber)
- what's the proper way to clean a laminar flow hood? (read Reifman)
- what color is used to indicate biohazardous material? (orange)

Ditto on that. Seriously, the Reifman book is the ****. Work as many practice exams as possible. They help tremendously.

I will be taking the exam Nov 19th, just stressin a little bit...This is a career change for me from Information Technology to Healthcare.

I am not a spring chicken so I really want to do well and continue to prepare myself for a seat in a Pharmd program in the future.

Keep up the great work you two!

Thanks again....

-Tavit 🙂
