Tavit -- that is the only book I used to pass the exam and the Reifman sample exams are excellent preparation for the actual exam itself. I went through only a couple of the exams thoroughly and many similar questions appeared on the PTCE. Know your conversions inside-out. If you can do those exams and understand the answers, the test will be easy. You are given 3 hours to do the test, so take your time and relax. I studied for about a week. The Noah Reifman book is equivalent to Kaplan for the PCAT -- outstanding. It covers what you need to know.
math was very easy, but refresh your memory on conversions such as:
- be able to convert teaspoons and tablespoons to mL
- know what a drams and scruples are (apothecary system)
- pounds to kilograms, liters to milliliters, etc.
sample conceptual questions on the PTCE were as follows:
- what color bottles are used to prevent light degradation? (amber)
- what's the proper way to clean a laminar flow hood? (read Reifman)
- what color is used to indicate biohazardous material? (orange)
