I figured this thread, bearing this topic would soon arise. Well here it is.

The moment we've all been waiting for. Now the wait until March ____ (lol I totally forgot when Match day is...I know it's b/w the 12-15 or something)

Anyways, just certified the big daddy. Now the wait :luck: :luck: :luck: . 😱

Good luck ppl!

Idio, just curious, what places are you looking? Do not need to rank (for the paranoid out there...).

Quick Question. If you rank a programs advanced and categorical on your rank order list, does this count as two different ranks? If so I'll have like 20 ranked programs or something.

Yes, it does, and you have to pay for >15. I went to 16 and it was going to cost $30. Hopefully it isn't $30x5 for you. What a rip!

i knew you had to pay if ur over 15...but WOW...$30 buck. yikes....i luckily only had to rank 12...crossing my fingers

So nrmp sends me an email that says i have 18 ranks.

I have 3 advanced with 3 TY on each supplemental and 6 categoricals. I don't have to pay extra because I am under the 15 in categorical/advanced and under 15 with TY/prelims. So for total ranks they count each possible outcome? So for my 3 advanced positions there are 4 outcomes = 12 and then my categoricals are 6 which is a total of 18.

This post was going to be a question about how I had 18 ranks....but now I have figured it out....this is like talking to myself only now everyone on sdn gets to see how stupid i am!

Somehow it says I have 30 ranks, even though there are a far fewer number of programs that I'm ranking. It has to do with that each subrank I create (A, B, C, etc) counts as a different list even though I only have 4 prelims/TY

Does it cost to recert your list if you change your mind after you certify the original list?

I know I could look this up, but if you've already done it...

No...just be sure you recertify once you've changed your ROL.

I certified mine seemingly just before UIC withdrew the advanced spot, and seeing that I somehow have over 15 (due to all these programs having categorical and advanced) I just threw away $30 I guess....damn you UIC :meanie:

Ill rank the following 9 (in alpha order)

Alabama-Birmingham
Florida
Johns Hopkins
Mayo-Jacksonville
Oklahoma
UT-Southwestern
Vanderbilt
Virginia
Washington University

Id be ecstatic at 6 of these, and truly happy at all 9. Ill really just be happy to match, you know?

thinkfast, dont do it man, dont do it....

i've not touched my RoL in two days. Let's see if I can do this w/o going back and changing it.

I have a certified ROL. If I go in there and change it but not certify my changed ROL. Would the system get rid of my certified ROL? Would I be then left without a certified ROL?

if you start mucking around in there you return to ranking status (the red words in the right hand corner). You have to recertify - it doesn't save the old copy. It has to say those magic words in green in the right hand corner for you to have a certified ROL. Even if you end up moving things back to the way they were before you mucked - you have to recertify. I have done that at least once!

4 certifications down at least 4 more to go!

26d18h43m until match

doesn't look like mine. i've been drifting from "big brand name" to "i like being near my baby nephew and watching him spit food on my sister". watch for the big names to float around ranks 5-8.

today anyway.

or at least for a few hours, before i change it all around again.

so many neuroses, so little time.
