Curious whether schools who have yet to take an action on your application gets a Certiphi report (if it was requested already by a school you got accepted at) or is it only once they accept you? In other words, will they get a hint about an acceptance prior to making a decision?

They also do the background check for waitlisted applicants (IIRC from the email from the security agency). So I don't know if it means something necessarily.

I have been accepted already. This is more about when a second/other school hasn't yet decided post-interview, whether they will automatically receive a copy of the Certiphi (before making a decision), and therefore know you have an acceptance already and potentially influence their decision. just curious really

Oh sorry I misunderstood your last message. I'm not sure really but I think medical schools would just assume that background checks would only contain infractions (if any) that are listed on your AMCAS app. So I don't think it will affect their decision directly like that but I'm sure an adcom can give the real answer.

Sorry to clarify again -- no concerns about infractions. More talking about them knowing about an acceptance before deciding

I doubt they would base their decision to accept you based on whether or not you already have an acceptance. I'm sure they understand that the best and strongest applicants have multiple acceptances. If anything, I think having an acceptance might be to your advantage because another school has already placed their confidence in your qualifications and potential as a future doctor. Just my opinion though.
