A 35 yr old woman comes to the physician b/c of an abnormal Pap smear. She undergoes cervical biopsy. Histologic examination of the transformation zone confirms high grade cervical dysplasia (CIN3). If the pt is lost to follow-up, which of the following outcomes is most likely two years later?

A. Metastasis via blood stream
B. Mets via lymphatics
C. Persistence of the lesion at the same level
D. Progression of the lesion to invasive carcinoma
E. Regression of the lesion

Either C or D. I'm not terribly familiar with the timeline in years. I think it's C because it takes a really long time usually to invade (which it does locally). Questions like this are really annoying because it's not the type of thing thats in UWFAP or that you learn in school. Plenty of these on the exam.
