sGPA 2.85 Retaking 16 science credits this upcoming year
cGPA 2.85 upward trend
MCAT 27N got blindsided test day, averaged 35 on practices, most likely retaking jan '13

100+hrs Paid ER work
100+hr in pathologist office helping gross tissues/shadowing pathologist
30hrs shadowing surgeon in surgery and on rounds
Licensed (ASCP) Medical Technologist night shift 50-60hr weeks for the last 1.5 years
Clinical rotations for MT degree/licensure (not sure if this counts for ECs/ if the grades count towards sGPA?)
Bone marrow donor
16hrs autopsy observation
Research not published
LOR from science prfoessors, lab managers, one MD
Looking into shadowing DO currently

After my retaking those 16 science credit hours I should have a 3.1 sGPA (according to DO school rules). The plan is to apply next year to DO and SMPs. What advice can you give me? Be Harsh. I will be a doctor someday soon.

I think you should retake more science classes and try to get both your c/sGPA to 3.3+ and you will have a great shot at DO...No need to do a SMP IMO.

Anyone have an idea if my clinical rotation grades count into sGPA? if so life would be easier as they are 15 credits of straight A

Just out of curiosity what is your reason behind not bothering with an SMP?

i think they were against the smp because (sorry if this is not true for aacomas) the SMP will not change your undergrad GPA, and regardless of how great of a gpa you get for a graduate degree, that sub-3.0 cumulative could get you screened out of places immediately. plus if you are doing your SMP at the same time youre applying the best you can hope for is to update your schools in January with 1 semester of grades? maybe not worth the money.

+1 Correct.

Try and sneak more science classes in OP... that GPA needs saved.
