Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some input on what other people feel toward my chances of being accepted to med-school.

Here's a quick breakdown of my stats:

cGPA 3.4, sGPA 3.5.
I'm currently in my second year working for my BA in Biology, Societies, and Environment. I'm working even harder as the semesters go by, and my GPA should rise a little further; both cGPA & sGPA.

Here's a quick breakdown of my experience and volunteer work:

-Six years as a flight medic in the Air Force; "Airman" of the quarter on my base for 2008--basically saying I'm employee of the quarter to simplify.
I've worked in many hospitals, level I-III in Iraq, Germany, U.K., and many across the States through the military.
-Five years working in an ER as a technician; employee of the month numerous months.
-Two years working in a hospital as admissions.
-Six months working as a (paid) research assistant in a pharmaceutical research clinic.
-EMT-B, CPR, ALS, certifications
-One year of volunteer work, (to-date) working in a low-income minority community center working with troubled teenagers.

This is just a quick breakdown of my info., as I'm hoping someone could tell me my chances of getting into a school? I realize my GPA isn't the "best," but I'm working on it! 🙂

Thanks for your time!

Need an MCAT score in order to accurately assess your chances. Assuming your GPA doesn't change, With a 31 you would stand about a 60% chance of getting in, with a 34 you would stand about a 70% chance of getting in, with a 37 you would stand about a 76% chance of getting in (https://www.aamc.org/download/157958/data/table25-w-mcatgpa-grid-white-0810.pdf.pdf)

GPA is on the lower end but you said you are working on it. EC's are amazing. Nice leadership and clinical experience.

Have you considered staying with the military either through USUHS or HPSP? Or are you looking to go civilian? Either way you stand a great shot with a 30+ MCAT as your EC's will really make you stand out among the 1000's of other applicants with a similar GPA/MCAT profile.

Best of luck!
