I would like to thank everyone before hand for your input.

I just got my mcat scores back and i got a 30M (ps 8/ vr 10/ bs 12).
I was getting 8-13 on the ps part of aamc practice tests.

I have a 3.7+ science gpa, classes like Asian lit, and poly sci, brought my gpa down, while my science classes boosted my gpa.

I have been performing research since my sophomore year in an infectious disease lab on campus. I have shadowed a couple of physicians, and volunteered at a cardiology clinic over a summer. I have been volunteering at an after school tutoring program for a couple years, and also at a free clinic for a couple of years. In your opinion what do i need to do to strengthen my application?

Also I am planning on taking a gap year, and so i will be applying in next years cycle. For my gap year i am looking into an internship at the CDC.

I would like to go out of state, i live in GA, so what are my chances, and how should i improve?

Thanks everyone

I think you should quite fussing and start applying. Maybe you won't get into Stanford or the Ivies, but you'll get in to many a decent school with those numbers.

you really think i can? im just trying to get into med school, and i know i dont have a shot at any ivy leagues.

I think you have a decent shot with your score as long as your ECs and LORs are solid and based on where you apply. Your MCAT score is not bad at all, but if you're worried about how competitive you are, you still have time to retake. If you can get 10's across you're looking very good. Good luck!

Dont retake- work on your essays and interviewing skills. Having excellent LORs will greatly help you as well. If you retake the mcat, you could do better, but I wouldnt risk it. A 12 in bio is nice.
