Chance for os with low rank

I just finished my first year of dental school and currently rank in the bottom 25th percentile. I'm interested in pursuing OMFS and I know it's highly competitive. I plan to work hard over the next two years to improve my rank, take the CBSE, and pursue a non-categorical position if needed.

That said, I'm wondering (given where I currently stand) is OMFS still realistically within reach, or should I start considering other options? I’d really appreciate any honest advice or insight from those who’ve been in similar situations. Tyia

Yes, you only finished your 1st year. Need to step it up though and score very well on the CBSE and/or look at the military route.

Definitely possible if you score decent on the CBSE and are willing to do an intern year.
