Just wanted opinions on what i should do. First MCAT 28 (10, 9, 9) , second MCAT 26 (11, 8, 7). cGPA and sGPA is 3.50 from a top 50 university. Extracurriculars: I have shadowed a surgeon for 200 hours. Did community service activities for 600 + hours. Volunteered at hospital for 300+ hours and researched for 700+ hours. I am accepted into a 1-year master's MD program. However, now because of the lower mcat number, I am worried that even if I do well in the program I won't get interviewed. Thanks a lot for the feedback in advance.

The fact that your MCAT score dropped on your second attempt is going to be a cause for concern. The first score was marginal (at best) for MD programs, but the second score falls below the threshold at almost all programs.

Is the 1-year program tied to a medical school?

What's your state of residency?

At this point I think the SMP is a waste of time and DO is the only viable option, unless you live in a state where the state schools have a very low floor for MCAT scores.

I live in NJ and no it is not linkage but ~90% of the master's students go to the school.

I was thinking Rowan, NYCOM, PCOM as a start

What other schools should I add? also I forgot to mention that I am a re-applicant that applied to the colleges listed above and got interview at Rowan and NYCOM in a previous cycle.

Is the master's program a waste of time because of my MCAT or do you think doing well in the program is more important to them since I am into the program?

That changes things quite a bit.

What improvements have you made from the previous application cycle to this cycle?

When were your MCAT attempts? Did you have the lower score on your second retake during your previous application cycle?

Did you get feedback from those schools from your last application cycle? Did they recommend the Master's program?

i have volunteered more hours in the hospital and I had a part time job. I'm also looking to another shadow a doctor.

The lower score was not there during the previous cycle.

After both the interviews, I felt I didn't do enough to convince them but I have definetely matured and I think I have better interviewing skills. No one recommended them, I just thought it was a good plan b.
