My name is Richard and I just finished my sophomore year at Temple and I am a biochemistry major. I had a 3.4 my freshman year and then a 3.2 and now I have a 3.1. I am taking organic chemistry 2 right now and I got a B- in organic chem 1. I got a B+ in Bio102 (which is harder and more advanced then bio 101) and got a C in Bio 101. I got a C and a C- in my general chemistry courses but A's in pretty much every other class that I have taken here at Temple. I am an extremely busy and involved student here at Temple and I have never considered anything besides dental school. As a biochem major, the next two years of my undergrad curriculum are going to be extremely difficult but I am prepared. I want to bring my gpa up to a 3.4-3.5 range in order to be considered a good candidate for admission to dental school. I am also very involved in my university and I am the captain of my debate team, the president of the biology society, I am the student trustee of Temple U, I am a member of the academic affairs of the student government, and I am a member of the pre dental health society. I also tutor inner city children every week through the PAL tutoring program. Last summer I interned with an oral surgeon and a dentist and this summer I am shadowing two dental students at Temple's dental school. I plan on taking the DAT course as well as the DAT next summer. Any comments on my chances of getting into dental school? Please make relevant and helpful comments. Thank you!
