So I interviewed at IUSOM (Indiana Univ. school of med.) as an in state applicant back in January 2006. I took the MCAT back in 2000 thinking at the time I might apply to med school later - but wanted to see if a career in research was what I wanted (PS: I scored low 20's (M) on the MCAT). I went on to get MS degree in molecular biology at Purdue (undergrad was at U of Michigan at Flint campus). Now fast forward 6 years to the present and...
So here is my question: They interviewed me based on my 6-year old MCAT score...and I have authored (as 1st author) 2 journal articles in breast cancer research in a journal with a decent impact factor score plus worked as a research scientist for 1 year in Indy. What do you guys think my chances of acceptance are? I have a 3.3 cum gpa too, included in that is a 3.90 combined post bacc and MS degree gpa. Not much clinical experience either.
PS: IUSOM claims they want to be a top 10 research school by 2010! Does this affect my chances of admission?
Regards,
Adeno
