Basic stats:
2.5 cgpa (but my last 2 quarters were 4.0)
28O MCAT

I've got so many units down that it would be hard for me to make much of an impact on the gpa, but I could retake the MCAT( 12 9 7) and maybe bump it to a 30.

I'm thinking of applying for the May semester at Ross this December.

What are my chances? Will I even get MERPed?

Thank you!

You might get merped. Unlikely to get direct admission due to your low cGPA. You can find more about ROSS at: www.valuemd.com

If your stats are that low do you really think med school but more specifically Ross is a good idea? From what I have read it is one of the least supportive schools? If you want to go why not try AUC or something?

You might have a chance at merp, maybe straight admin based on how your interview goes.

Pay no attention to Bambi, there is support at Ross you just have to seek it out.

Just apply, and see what happens.

Just trying to stop someone that might need more support wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars going to a school where they apparently will be pretty much left to it instead of one that offers more help! On all these forums and in blogs people go on about the lack of support at Ross and say they wish they had gone to one of the other big 4 for exactly that reason.

And out of all those who complain about the lack of support, how many actually seek out the help that is offered? How many actually take their questions to the prof? How many change their study methods? How many go to TA sessions?

I get what you're saying Bambi but there are so many students who complain about everything on the island! I think people go to Caribbean med schools and just expect it to be super easy. Just because it's easier to get into, doesn't mean it's easier to pass.

Ross is not easy, and yes there are many who fail out every semester. But it's survived this long for a reason. In the end it's what you make of it.

Wow...thank you Temperature101, Bambi and PTE^^.

Wasn't expecting all the responses. I contacted some of Ross' admissions officers and I'm currently taking some more upper-div science classes to show the improvement.

I'll look at all the big 4 and esp. AUC now that you've mentioned it.

Thanks again to everyone who replied!
