I have recently graduated cum laude from University of Miami (UM) a semester early in dec 08 to travel. My MCAT was a 28S and I have a cum 3.65 GPA (3.43 BCMP, 3.89 other) with majors in Bio and Geography and minors in Chm and History. In addition, I have over 2 yrs of research, with a publication, a few hundred hours of patient contact at a major hospital, plenty of extracurriculars, community service, work experience, etc. I even have good letters of rec from the vice president of UM, whom I worked for directly, and the former provost.

At this point I have been accepted to FSU, waitlisted at USF, and have an upcoming interview at UF, but my heart has always been set on going to UM. I was wondering if anyone out there has gotten in, or knows anything about anyone who got in, with similar stats so I can get an idea if I have a chance of an interview.

thanks

I know a lot of people that got into UM with a 3.4-3.5 GPA, but the thing is they all had 30-31 MCATs. That 28 might hurt you because I think their average MCAT for matriculants is a 31. It seems though that your clinical experience and EC's are solid so I wouldn't be surprised if you did get an interview. Congratulations on FSU Com though.
