Chances for D.O.?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So I took the MCAT 3 times.... (7/6/8) 21 ; (10/7/7) 24 ; (10/8/10) 28
Finally, happy with my MCAT score. Does the fact that I took it 3 times make my chances for D.O. worse?
Should I look into some lower tier M.D. schools?
Depends on the school. Some look at your highest most recent or all of them. Find the ones that look at highest most recent score. I know PCOM for example looks at highest. For MD even the 28 is low try your state school if you want. Doubt you will get much there unfortunately

Which M.D. school in Florida would I have a shot with? UCF possibly?
For D.O. my number one choice is Nova Southeastern

We don't know what your GPAs are and what ECs you have.

MCAT is only one part of the app.

Lethal at my school, do your homework and find out what schools take the highest score, the best composite, or most recent score.

For MD schools, MCW might be interested.

I wouldn't worry ... I scored a 23, 21, and 27 with a 3.5 CumGPA and 3.6 SciGPA and still got into two DO schools (didn't bother finishing 2ndaries for others once I knew I got in) . The key is to APPLY EARLY, show high interest in the schools (by going to open houses and meeting admission reps) and have solid EC's/letters. Some schools appreciate a high upward trend.
