Hi, Im a new member!
I just finished 1st yr at the university of toronto, my GPA wasn't spectacular (around 3.3), and I'm looking to write the MCATs sometime after my second yr or in my third yr.
As far as EC's go, I've been volunteering with a couple hospitals (one for 4+ yrs). I'm doing some research with a prof next yr, and I've helped an occupational therapist with some of his research at a rehab hospital. I've also been part of a few student clubs on campus, and i try to keep my participation up in intramural sprots and things like that.
I'm concerned that my first yr marks will bring down my chances of getting into med school, both in canada and in the states.
anyone have any idea what my chances (at this point.. i know its early) would be? what kind of MCAt score should I be aiming for? any suggestions on doing better?
